tgd clutch cable
i have been driving the tgd for a week or so now, as the tzd is still without alternator, this is the tgd that was previously auto now manual, new clutch fitted and new cable but pedal feels notchy towards bottom of travel and same on way up till about half way and feels as if its getting worse daily, clutch arm checked on assembly all ok, have sprayed all moving parts with wd40 but makes no difference, clutch bites in about the right place, pedal not heavy but not smooth at all, maybe i have routed the cable wrong as it didnt have one previously, what is the correct routing for the clutch cable? n/a 1.9

Re: tgd clutch cable
Have you checked the pedal assembly-I had a bracket which 'moved' with the pedal movement, eventually fatigued and got worse and worse clutch becoming stiffer and stiffer.Took the bracket off and welded it.problem solved.worth a look.
Re: tgd clutch cable
are you sure you have located the outer cable plastic feral into the eye at the pedal box correctly, if not the inner cable will chafe on the bracket/eye,
also the outer cable has to come up to the pedal box in a straight line,

Re: tgd clutch cable
yes the cable is in properly the little locating notch is seated in the slot, i have re routed the cable so it does not have as many bends in it now and does seem a lot smoother and more user friendly.citronut wrote:are you sure you have located the outer cable plastic feral into the eye at the pedal box correctly, if not the inner cable will chafe on the bracket/eye,
