Reservoir leak

Post by kieran.l »

There is a whole on the reservoir cap (when the hoses are attached) at the point of a return hose due to a mouse eating it. Anyone know are the reservoirs identical on mk1 and mk2s? Any idea of the type of plastic that it is made from? The plastic weld solution I'm using doesn't seem to be binding. :?

It's probably unwise to repair it with adhesive compounds as LHM is not friendly to many materials and you don't want foreign matter getting into the system and blocking it as a consequence.

The Breaker Phil recommends "Edwards", I think in Billericay may be a good source for a replacement and they send stuff out too.

That's good to know. It seems ok now. Used a bit more weld and got the hair-drier to it and it set. The hole was only about 6mm. Took for a drive just now and no leak.
