Sunroof maintenance.

Post by Mothman »

Gloria came with a factory fitted sunroof.
What can i do to maintain this in good condition? Should and where should i be lubricating anything and with what?
Works fine at the moment and i do have a spare motor and console should i need one.

WD40 is not a lubricant - spray bicycle chain lube will be fine, the thicker type will be best.

I used to rub a bit of vaseline around the soil to stop it getting stiff and brittle

yes but the seal is not a seal but a draft felt, it is not intended to stop water passing through, but just the wind whistling around your ears,

bike chain grease should be find to lube the parts of the cables you can access,

the other maintenance required is to keep the top of drain tubes clear, this is best done bu blowing compressed air up the tubes from the bottom ends,
do place a dust sheet over the seats before doing this though
