16V thermostat

Post by mark239 »

Does anyone know the part number for this?

twice I've been to the local factors, and twice it's been entirely the wrong size.

I thought they were all the same? Obviously not!

Does anyone know the part # for the likes of gates?

Thanks

I believe there is a 50mm and a 53mm thermostat listed for the valver. I'm not sure which is right for our cars, but the other is for the iron block 16v engine in some pugs.

pretty sure it's a bog standard 50MM unit from memory, it's been a long time since I did one, although I should, mines stuck open.

50mm sounds like it could be the job, the one I got was just slightly too tight.

going by the Spoox website the two size options are 53mm and 56mm.

Citroen Service suggests the gasket size is 53mm.

TBH i can't remember which thermostat housing i ordered, ended up getting both as the first one didn't fit!

Sorry, doesn't narrow it down by much but at least now you've narrowed the options to two. If you undo the housing you can measure across the gasket mounting 'hole' and get the exact measurement that way. Or trust the Citroen parts list?

I got mine from Spoox.

It was expensive, but it did fit OK.
