Strange electrical behaviour...

Post by KevR »

The fan for the fuse blew this morning. Fair enough. Fan didn't work - neither did indicators, just a buzz from the relay.
But why did the battery warning light come on when I turned the fan knob to 'on' and then go off again when I turned it to 'off' ...?

Put a new fue in and all is working again - albeit with a noisy fan motor as I was too enthusiastic about cleaning the grooves in the motor commutator last week....

Sounds like low battery voltage ... relays clicking, indicators not working! Does it crank & run?

Battery's fine, starts and runs fine, just the wierdness. Turns out fuse wasn't gone - it's the ignition switch. Must have a dodgy contact - wiggle the key and it's ok!
