1/4 lights

Post by Jaba »

Has any one ever removed one of these intact ?
I am trying to remove two with the seal intact and am failing so far.
The BOL indicates to push it down and forwards then lever it out gently inwards, if only it were that easy.
Any tips anyone please ?

Bloody nightmare they are. Lots of jimmying the seal against the door frame, swearing and wiggling saw mine out.

Yes! They were a faff as kitch says, lots of WD40, remove the central plastic trim finisher and remove the door trim panel which will make things alot clearer!
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Remove verything around them and heat the seal with blow dryer. I got mine out without heating the seal, but afterwards I thought it might have been easier If I did so.

I'm assuming from the descriptions above that everyone's talking about the small fixed windows in the back doors.

I used the screwdriver method (being very careful of the paintwork underneath). Most of the seal came away with mine, but I still had to get the white spirit out for the residue, also under mine I found a load of hard yellow stuff, almost like very dense expanding foam adhesive stuff that I had to chip off with a screwdriver.
