1.9D downpipe

Post by ben »

My downpipe has turned into a flute so i'm buying a new one ..i bought this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370337946608? ... 1423.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but he suddenly changed it to collection only

then i saw this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171040562872? ... 1423.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400326105086? ... 1423.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Any recommendations/steer clears? obviously the slightly cheaper (last link) one is attractive mainly because of much quicker delivery ,but anyone have experience of buy cheap buy twice with these?

I've used AEP (the second link) many times, both via eBay and directly. No problems with longevity (including the exhaust rear box which is now getting on for 4 years old) but they did once send me two front drop links of different makes. When I opened them up they were two different lengths(!) but no problem to return them at their cost for a refund.

Although a word of warning about AEP

I have used them happily in the past (probably for the last 15 years at least)

yesterday i enquired about some BX parts and the chap was totally dis-interested.
I may have well asked him to french kiss a leper as ask him for 23 year old BX parts.

I hope they arent going the way of all other previously good citroen 'specialists'

Dunno about ones to steer clear of, but I'd say buy while you can - it seems that for the UK at least, most exhaust systems for BX's are no longer produced and whatever's out there is all we're gonna get.

Citroen Parts London might be worth a try too, for future reference. Completely the opposite experience to Mr. Stinkwheel with AEP, as when I mentioned BX to him on the phone I couldn't get away for the next half an hour! He said they still keep a lot of BX parts in stock, which would be useful if parts are no longer being manufactured.

Thanks ,Bought the aep one . Luckily they're quite a simple exhaust so I suppose even if there was a drought something could be knocked up easy enough by your friendly local metal worker .That German firm never seem short of bx exhaust parts.
