It's a ZX, but the engine's the same as a BX19D in essence, so I wondered; the oil level warning light flashes indicating low oil, but the oil level's fine. An oil change didn't make it go away either.
In true Citroen-fault-fixing-style, which wire do I have to wiggle to make it behave, lol? Where's the sensor (must be some sort of float? If so is it stuck - so where do I tap it - )

Re: XUD question
Back middle of the sump is a 2 pin sensor and the wiring going up from it. The sump has what looks like a cyclindrical casting in it, this is, i believe, where the sensor lives.
Its easiest to get to from beneath on a BX, but on a ZX i do not know. Hope that helps

Re: XUD question
My Xantia's has done this since new (its one of those things Sir), fine when left overnight but if you start it up again after a run it flashes for a few seconds saying oil is low when its fine.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Re: XUD question
It's not a float sensor actually, at least on the BX But a circuit which passes current through a piece of wire, which will heat up very quickly if in air but not if immersed in oil. Depending on how quickly it heats up, the oil level is known.

Re: XUD question
On some the sensor is on the back of the block near the gearbox, it has a longish probe pointing downwards into the sump, my Xantia one used to cry wolf if I parked with the wheels on a kerb etc.
