I use it very occasionally - good for freeing off the nuts on scaffold clamps and keeping the rust at bay.

WD40 seems to act as cleaner rather than a lubricant, but i have used it to try & penetrate rusted in parts, but now use plusgas instead.

Yes PlusGas, or Wurth Rostov - trade only I think. Brilliant stuff, knocks WD40 into a cocked hat for getting rusty fasteners off. MOre expensive though so not to be left laying around for someone to use inappropriately. WD40 is handy utility spray and good for cleaning up stuff. It is also pretty inactive/harmless to other compounds, where as some agents can create problems.

or just apply diesel fuel, very very good penetrating fluid,

agreed diesel is an excellent penetrate, so why does no-one sell it in spray form?

Just buy an atomiser bottle & stick some in, which will be a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a proprietry product! :wink:

no good in an air ass ole as im lead to belive in a lot of case's its the propellent that is the problem,

i agree with this apart from the diesel fuel will probably destroy the seals in these atomiser gun's
