Suspension issue

Battle of elimination so asking a few thoughts on this.

How to descibe? Basically the suspension dont feel right...yea I know. I had suspected a hardening sphere so I swapped them around with ones I had and used that were proven. What I have not changed is the regulator sphere....yet.

Symptoms of note the steering feels a bit light, the rear suspension slow to rise (coincidence?) basically the ride dont feel right I know the All 5 spheres have done 35,000kms since last recon. But that was over 5 years since we have owned the car.

If they are 5 years old, the may all be low on pressure & thats why swapping them round didn't yield any different results Can you get them all tested to see if that is the case?

My bad when I meant I swaped them around I took them off another BX I know the ride was good. Might be worth reading the rest though Mulley before we get hung up on this.

Couple more thoughts to throw in the mix: ride height? Stiff rear arm bearings (linked to the slow rising?) Dirt in the height corrector(s)? Not sure how you would prove that, other than by substitution.

I would try not to over think this Kiwi. If the suspension rises to the correct height then the "feeling" of the suspension can only be affected by sphere pressures or suspension friction.

If the car rises and sinks smoothly (no clunks, groans or jerks) then you have pretty much narrowed it down to sphere pressures. Do you have anyone near by who can check the gas pressures?

A dud main accumulator will affect pump cycle times and height correction response, but not ride quality. Low system pressure due to a failing pump may result in ineffective brakes and steering but does not change ride comfort, as long as normal ride height is attained.

What about old LHM, i found that after i'd done a fresh lhm change & done the bleeding etc.. the suspension rose up much faster & the suspension felt softer?

I will blow away the stiff arm bearings as this is the BX I fixed that problem of.

Nearest sphere tester is 2-3 hours drive away and not that easy to get there anytime soon.

But I think Mulley may be on to something as I just recalled that the Car I chaged LHM in recently was not this one so despite leaks etc probably a good idea to do a change since I have a 20 litre container of the stuff. Probably head down the road of change everything and eliminate or not. Its not like dont have plenty spares around at the moment and a recon FDV will go to waste unless I find a home for it.
