Cam oil seal distributor end 1.6 petrol

Post by Tinkley »

Anyone got the seal specification for the above mentioned part?. B2C engine and the only real leak is from under the distributor. Tried searching but no joy on exact sizeing.

I assume it is an off the shelf seal, not a special so I might as well get it from a local bearing/seal factor, unless Citroen are unusually cheap..

Thanks Defender, that is exactly what I needed. Now I hope to have a nearly dry unit after that has been fitted!. I believe it is actually quite a common failure on the petrol units. Still can't moan too much as it sat for 4 years in the other car outside and worked just fine after flushing.

Thanks Malcolm, I suppose if I take of the DIZZY of the old extracted engine I'll find out

It is a light but persistent weep of clean engine oil. Both engines have had this but the tired one leaks on other seals and joints too. I do know I've got the Bosch DIZZY cap and as there are 2 types of each ie Ducellier and Bosch it is fun tracking the right one down. It does need a new cap and arm because I don't like doing much more than 30k with them as there is always wear/pitting on the internal contact faces in my experience.
