1600 Radiator size

Post by JayW »

Does anyone else with a 1600 have the radiator core size to hand?

Mine is only around 440mm wide yet most seem to list it as 600mm.
I have zero patience for your tedium.

After reading both this and the other thread about radiator sizes, I suspect that many suppliers have rationalised their stocks by suddenly deciding some radiators can suddenly fit a wider range of models.

The radiator in my old 14RE (first registered April 88 with 150C engine) was identical to that in the 2 1.6 Athena's (Jan and March 91) so the smaller size one is probably right.
I have a radiator that will fit, but it does leak although it is very clean inside. Pretty sure a stone got it as it was in fact 'borrowed' from the 14 when I scrapped it - a decent Serck one. It was leak free for 3 years and then started a slow weep, which proved hard to trace. If you want the OK but leaky one JayW, you are welcome.

I'm pretty sure the one on the AEP website is correct as everything seems to match date wise. Of course I could just run the tape over it... RxBx has put the correct pic up as far as I can tell, cheers.
The uber cheap one on fleabay is too long for the 1.6 but someone else might grab a bargain!
