They are still available bud, sorry i cant gove you the numbers, all packed away ready for me to move. Rob Moss has them all in stock too so might be a bit quicker from him as they need to be ordered and take a few more days from a main stealer.

If your changing that Philip, check the Little Octopus (or Squid) too. Mine lasted only about a year after the Octopus was changed. Beware though, there are two types depending on the 4 Digit No.
BTW my Little Octopus failure showed up by leaking at the front ride height corrector even with a jubilee clip.

Thanks, I'll try Main dealer as it isn't hugely urgent, but will keep an eye on price. Rob's is about £63 + £9 P&P I think.

As for the Squid; no idea about that but will get my specialist to take a look before I do anything.

 That's racked up over double what they were in recent years. I remember a price of £27.50 from GSF before they cut the BX adrift (and it was genuine rubber ).

They have been this price for over a couple of years now, all made in Poland.

Hi, we bought the 3 oil back harnesses just over a year ago.

Part numbers
96119048 £61.29
96030258 £49.27
96056235 £33.05 total inc VAT £172.33

Bought from citroen main dealer in Abingdon. Oxford.

Prices probably gone up a little, 3 day wait for order from France.

Definately worth doing all 3, if one has perished the others will shortly follow.

Thanks... Time to get on the phone to Quest and dust off the Credit Card. Can't hurt to have a set available.

I'd agree with having one just in case - but do check any leaks aren't just the octopus body to front height corrector pipe which has a tight bend as this is the most common place they leak. You can do this, just, with long pliers from the drivers side with the front wheel off - I used a small offcut of rigid plastic pipe and 3mm ID silicone pipe to repair it..

If the rest of the octopus is so old that more of the rubber has deteriorated then this repair probably won't work very well but I repaired mine here over 2 years ago and the rest of the octopus and small one has been fine ever since and I still have my new one on the shelf for a later date!

In discussing with Dennis in the past although he has years and years of experience in maintaining Citroen suspension he says he found he rarely has to change the whole octopus and prefers pipe repairs but as the cars age so does the rubber deteriorate and repairs might be less practical. But having said that he'll always go for the repair option if possible... I'll take the car to him in the spring when it's a bit warmer...
