Would this fit my BX?

Post by Philip Chidlow »

Sender's very erratic on my 1991 TZD Turbo diesel, so I believe I'll need a new one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141556547887

Will this be ok?

Their compatability list on the item sale seems to suggest that its OK for the Diesel estate but omits it in the Hatch list for the 1769. There no doubt will be other opinions to follow soon.
I take it you don't fancy removing yours for a wash and check first before splashing out on this?

Could be just a poor connection on it
They think it's all over, it is now!

It's been checked in the past for poor connections although admittedly it's not been cleaned, but in all honesty with all the taking apart of stuff etc which might or might not work, and seeing as I generally replacing old for new when the car needs something I'm inclined just to put a new sender in. Profligate it might be but this BX is worth it ;)

I had a problem with an erratic sender on my TZD, I cleaned all the contacts etc. without joy so bit the bullet and bought one of these from Citroen; unfortunately it made no difference what so ever so I wasted my money. I never did get to the bottom of it but my next port of call would have been the instrument gauge itself.

Hi - the fact its behaviour was directly linked to putting fuel in, (refilling often got rid of the issue temporarily), sloshing it about on windy roads and so on I will work on the assumption (misguided or not lol) that it is at the tank end - and we'll check over the sender connections to start with.

AFAIK they're all the same senders, petrol or diesel. Same part number as far as I can see from Cit Service.
