well at £25 each i have bought 5 of these all from citroen all genuine and all of them have split while i try to put them on.
i have tried
heating
hot water
heat gun
using a metal spoon
using a pneumatic tool
using force
using spanners
using very blunt wide flat blade screw drivers
every one ends up with the boot getting punctured
how
the
hell
do
you
get
it
on
this is costing me a fortune.
i will pay someone my whole months pay to get this steering rack boot on without damage i want this car that much.
£3200 odd so far i have spent on it. whats another £450?! come on offers??!
this is turning me insane.

It's best to use the Xantia boots which are rubber rather than the plastic of the BX. For the n/s boot use a spoon to protect the boot from the spigot and with a push and a heave it will go on. I found it helpful to stretch the boot beforehand on one of those cones that you use for stretching CV boots over the joint.

Hi,
I used a set from a motor factors came in about £8 and came with a cone to go over the ball joint, only done the drivers side so far as the n/s was going to be a pig and it was undamaged at the moment.
Kevin.
