Electrical Supplies

Post by Oscar »

Hi there

Where's a good place to go for basic electrical supplies such as different grade wires and flex, in-line fuses, connectors, heat-shrink insulation etc?

For many non-specific connectors, relays, heat shrink and some wires etc then Maplin is probably a good bet:

For heavier duty cables then B&Q Warehouse has a selection of domestic wiring cables that can be bought in shorter lengths than from the electrical wholesalers.

When cables are used for 12v work it is preferable to ensure that they have reasonably thick insulation so that the insulation does not fail at rub-points in general vibration and flex.
