If your BX has an untraceable steering clonk, it might well be due to the gearchange bellcrank being loose. The best way to fix it is to have 0.015" ground off the central bush before replacing the central pivot bolt. The bellcrank is mounted on the rack itself. Silencing it makes a good car much better and it even improves the shift quality.
