16v - 8v suspension
16v - 8v suspension
I was wondering what the differences are. I suppose the obvious things are different spec spheres, thicker ARB's and wheels and tyres. But are there other differences ?

I was always told the 16v's had thicker rear anti roll bars?

Its not just thickness that are different either there are a number of different shapes! The 1.4 engine in the St Tropez has a big 'U' shape in the middle of it to allow clearance for the exhaust (which goes under the engine!).
From what i have seen its only the later 16v that has the thicker ARB and i would assume the earlier ph1 16v has the same ARB as the 8vGti.
Other than that the only other significant differences are the spheres as mentioned and the drive shafts (though i doubt the drive shafts are a real suspension issue)
