2 years ago is about the time I bought a GKN OS shaft for my TD from them. Had it fitted - and after about 100 miles the boot shifted, got caught in the brake shield and threw grease out. Got it home - and got the guy who fitted it to have a look - now very few miles later it seems noisy - but has gone through 2 MOT's.

Looks like another one or outer joint when I can be bothererd.

Leaves me wondering if these things should be run in? - short runs? My first one was 15 miles down the M27.

Well, the part seems ok. Fitting went quite well, although it does 'look' a cheaper unit than the original. Intermediate bearing was also shagged...all loose and noisy (just like an Essex girl!!). The hub nut design is cheap tho'....it has a shouldered nut which needs to be punched into a recess on the end of the d/s to stop it coming undone... I prefer the spring clip and funny biased lock washer thingy.

All seems well tho, runs ok, nice smooth gear change with new oil, no horrible noises to hopefully all solved.....
