STOP! and other birthday greetings

Post by Gareth Wales »

Just off for my birthday dinner, all togged up and really looking forward to it when .... STOP - and the car's dumped its LHM. I'm being a real whimp here, its raining and muddy underfoot, so any suggestions where the "leak" is likely to be. Power steering has gone, but brakes work - so does suspension so far Thought I'd ask before changing into my foul weather gear.

High pressure feed to the PAS ram? Happened to me and was caused by excessive movement of the RAM thanks to a worn rubber bush. Needed to replace the unit, plus the pipes.

Thanaks Phil, that's exactly what it is - but pipe has split too. Any idea what size bore that is?

This is where my knowledge fails. Hopefully someone else can help - I remember both metal pipes connected to the ram were replaced and they were shaped specifically for the job. My chap did have a couple in his stock - which was lucky. But as for size. Don't know

Genuine Citroen pipes are often surprisingly cheap and come ready bent to bolt in.

if its the pipes to the ram (from the pinion) there not expensive from Citroen (like £20 the set) no seals required, EASY access and even Billy could manage that job!
