BX parts sources

Post by jrdpod » Sat Jan 13, 2007 11:07 am

Happy New Year.

These are all for a 1987 (D) BX 17 RD.

1): Top air intake hose:
Following previous discussion, I searched the QH website as suggested, and could only find radiator hoses.
I'm wondering if my local diesel agent (Colchester Fuel Injection), could source such a part?

2): Sills (and other panels such as wings):
Where could I obtain new parts (in the Essex/Suffolk) area?

Many thanks.

John Podgorski/jrdpod.

Body panels - Hadrians (see them online). Most motorfactors will have a Hadrians book. Alternatively a dealer.

Specific hoses will be dealer only and can be stupidly expensive. Simple rad hoses can be had from QH or GSF.

You may be able to get a section of concertina type flexible hose from a specialist rubber supplier - try yellow pages. Otherwise there are various plastic and other pipes that may do that are available from B & Q or Machine Mart etc - not necessarily pretty but will do the job.

Your average French motoring store has loads of these. Give a list of dimensions and next time I'm over (or anyone on this Forum) we can pick a selection up.
