BX renovation - help and space needed

Post by Oscar »

Hi

I've posted elsewhere about the aerodynamic issues that are going to have a huge effect on SWMBO and I shortly.

One of the conclusions is that the car needs a renovation. We want to run it for as long as possible now. We've got it from an MoT write-off to a rolling project, doing a lot of work along the way. It's had:

New rear-arm bearings, new rad, new alternator, replacement pinion valve, new tyres, lots of trim work.

I have a new Hydrau pump to put in, and would like to replace the octopus, sort out the interior electrics, do any work on struts and breaks that may be needed, and generally sort it out.

I don't have the time and energy to get stuck in to all this myself, as well as lacking tools, knowledge and experience. I'd like to ask whether we can arrange a weekend to come and meet, and hit a few of these issues. WE would eb happy to travel and camp, but need someone like Tom or Jon to oversee and advise.

Does anyone have time and space to contribute to the project?

DLM is our best cephalopodologist and I'll scare off the electrical gremlins.
Keep an eye on the bay for front calipers for they are scarce and dear.

I won't be any help whatsoever, as I know less on here than most people. But I do know SWMBO is a really odd name for a partner, what nationality is she?

Kitch: SWMBO is an anacronym for `She Who Must Be Obeyed` I believe.

Oscar/Tom: I got a brand new genuine caliper from M&M (Holmfirth) last year for about £30 delivered. I`m sure between us all we`ll be able to muster some good second hand ones should it be neccessary as well as any other items that may be needed. If/when you get the chance maybe post up a notice on `for sale and wanted` with a list of anything you need? I`m sure to have a lot of bits knocking around somewhere!
