whats this light do?

Post by classic2cv »

this might sound a little silly of me

i've just got my TZD easte back on the road after a winter lay up

(it needed stuff doing for the MOt but got lazy and used the Berligo instead)

it's all up and running now but this lamp keeps lighting up (mostly flickering)

Image

i don't think that it's the abs lamp

and in my handbook it shows it as another colour but what is it?

Never seen it before but is it the low brake pads warning light?

Tim Leech and I were talking about that the other evening.

Yep, it's defo the low pad warning light. No-one ever see's them as 99.99% of bx's have long since had the wires chopped as they were crap!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Its the pad wearing light - not one of the car's finest features - as the sensor cables get tangled with the handbrake cables, the main cables foul the wheel rim etc. Nice if it works well and they may with a bit of easy sorting.

You can download a handbook here: - think its been edited to cover petrol and diesel.

so thats what it is

i've fitted new pads & discs and tried to fit the little wires but only found one of the wire cilps that hold them in place so i only fitted them on one side

i think it's best to take them off

Many thanks Guys :D

just had the wheel off and you were spot on =D>

the sensor cables got tangled with the handbrake cables, the main cable was fouling the wheel rim because the the wire clip had come loose

now i've taken the the wire and clip off no more problems
