Driveshaft or worn Diff/gearbox

Right its not a bx but I have an AX that had a very very bad rummble that went throught the whole car when you turned right at anything over 20Mph so i pinned it down to a shot N/S driveshaft now i changed it today and the rummble has now changed it is not as bad but still there when turning left now I am hoping it is the O/S driveshaft and not a worn gearbox/Diff as when i removed the drain plug in the box there was only 1.5 Litres of oil in it and the magnet on the drain plug was covered in swarf when i went to refil the gearbox the magnet on the filler plug was also covered in swarf. any advice would help there is no clicking or knocking from the driveshaft that i can hear it is just this almighty rummble when you turn left.

I'm no mechanic, but could it be a wheel bearing?

Checked them there is no play or roughness in them when you spinn them but i wouldnt rule them out.

How's about a knackered damper or something up with the suspension?

Hmm worth investigating I am going to get it airbourne again tomorrow and see it I can find anything.
Mind you when i stripped the old N/S driveshaft i was very

to find no grease in the inboard joint but about 1/4 litre of thick black oil and there wasnt much grease in the outboard joint either.

Hopefully u can find the problem & get it sorted, nothing like the satisfaction of fixing something yourself rather than paying a garage.
