anyone had experience of PTS Wokingham?

Post by richjenn »

I've been very impressed by what I've read about Pete Sparrows' operation, but it's a long way from me, so I'm posting to ask if any other members have had experience of them, and whether that was positive (or, of course, not so good)?
I'm keen to track down someone really on the ball with turbo fine tuning.

Not familiar at all I'm afraid mate.

Although if you're looking for someone to fine tune your turbo so the car goes like the wind for 3200 miles and then explodes......I'm your man!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Neither was I, my bank manager even less so!

How much power are you planning on mate?

What pump / turbo does your car have, and is the headgasket REALLY uptogether??

BX TZD turbo boost

Post by richjenn »

Hi
Not wanting to go crazy, just want to get it running as sweet as possible! Turbo doesn't really cut in till 3000rpm - really sluggish from rest -and economy not great.

Sadly turbo is KKK - the Garrett on previous TZD pulled from 2200rpm, and the car felt really lively.

Fuel pump is Lucas.

Head gasket done 20/30k miles back - no evident signs of problems there.

I feel (just that - only a feeling - no evidence!) that the pump timing and turbo boost need tickling - but have neither knowledge or facilities to do it.
Car runs fine, but not like a TZD should do in my experience - and because it pulls so sluggishly below 3000rpm I'm driving it like a petrol, revving hard, which I reckon is caning the fuel consumption.
So, not trying for a GTI substitute, but wanting some classic low end turbo grunt!
Thanks for your interest
Rich

What's the condition of the small pipe and its associates leading from the middle of the front of the intercooler to the injection pump like? Its function in life is to inform the additional fuel device of the boost pressure and it is very prone to splitting and dropping off. On mine a limb goes to the overboost warning light switch which is under the battery and I found it had dropped off here.

Easy and worth a good look.

As for PTS (back on topic how boring of me)

Yes, use them.

Pete and his whole setup are very professional, they know citroens (and peugeots) inside out and he is an expert at making them go fast (especially 2CV's weird;y enough)

You will not be dissapointed.
