TZD seats uncomfortable

Post by classic2cv »

I’ve always had very comfortable seats in all my Bx’s

But the seats in my TZD tend to hurt my back

It seems that they have a bit of a twist in them , has anybody else had this problem with their seat

And if so how did you sort it ?

My TZD seats are more comfortable than my relatively new Peugeot 307 and in my opinion a bit better than the ones in my previous 16V - the bottoms of them were too hard. If yours seem twisted, might be wise to remove them and check the seat frame isn't broken or bent - also that one side of the back or bottom isn't out of alignment with the other on the adjuster. Not sure if that can happen but if a belt has slipped or come off it might be the reason it seems twisted :?:

the other TZD's seats were much more comfortable and i could do hundreds of miles without any discomfort

but these seem to have a hard seat and a badly shaped back

i'll have to strip them down and see if anything is broken

PS

I did once see a Dutch web site showing you how to modify the seats in a TZD by fitting adjustable lumbar supports

(showing how to strip the seats down and what bits to weld on)

I think that some of the GTI’s had those seats fitted

That would be a good idea for long distance drivers

is there still a link to it ?
