Non start.

Post by Geoffrey Gould »

Hello all. The car has always started as soon as the key was turned, the other day it for the first time it didnt. It turned over but didnt attempt to fire. Another lot of heat, no start.
Couldnt see anything wrong so had a prod at the primer ( 1-7 td. Bosch pump.) No resistance felt, pumped for a while and it seemed to work, started and off to go. Went for about 35 miles stopped for a couple of hours and it wouldnt start, again, pump primer and started and drove back.
Next day no start at all. Removed the inlet pipe to the filter head and pumped and there was no suck at all. This happened with no warning what so ever, OK, stopped and that was that.
New filter head and it was completely cured. Diaphram ruptured so was very lucky. Something to be aware of.
Cheers.
Geoff.

PS.
With the new filter head 2 pumps was all it took to prime the system.
