Where's my radio wiring ?.....

Post by martin »

Hi again, i have a small problem trying to fit a stereo in my BX................There's no radio wiring loom/connector anywhere to be found ! However the aerial connection is present ? :?
My question is , was radio a cost option ?
If so and the original owner opted to not have one, does that mean it will also have no wiring loom/connector ?
I can feel some bunches of wires towards the right in the radio cavity and ive pulled on them but its not free ?

Easy way to find out is if you pull the speaker grills off the front doors and see if there is a wiring connection behind them. There should be a stereo wiring harness behind the space where the stereo goes - wiring comes in from upper left IIRC when I pulled mine out to swap for CD player - was the same on both UK spec car and Aussie spec car. Except UK spec car had DIN connector which made stereo install a snap (it also had DIN) whereas Aussie car didn't have DIN connections so I had to resplice/terminate leads.
cheers,
