Yes there was some sign of live but it was just not enough to get it going.
I am in Camberwell.
I will leave work now and then try again.
former BX 16 TGS Meteor Auto owner. No space or time to do own repairs. My BX is now owned by another member of this forum.

of course! Today the car started immediately without any problems.
I don't know what to do about this.
I will check if the sparks are jumping 10 - 15mm eventually when I have a helping hand.

Don't you just love it :lol:
The spark should jump at least 10mm (1cm).
It's probably best if you get somebody to turn the engine over while you hold the plug lead near a suitable earth.
I suppose it would help if you managed to see what this looks like in a "known good" BX for reference.
If you get electrocuted please don't think too unkindly of me.

be warned ...

An automotive ignition system produces EHT voltages at least 25KV. That will truly kick your legs up, if (& when) the spark decides your hand holding the HT lead provides the better earth path.

(most often it feels like the hood is banging down on you)
