Glass Sun Roof Edging

The edging of my GTI sunroof is now getting worse for wear. Can it be replaced or does it mean the complete thing?

I seem to remember in the days of owning a VW that you could buy a replacement trim for about £24 and fit it in about 2hrs.

What do you think?

Are the edges bonded on John? Maybe Doc or someone has done this before?

I looked into this a few years back. At that time the replaceable surround/seal was available from CitUK for around 50GBP. I decided to let just let it rattle away as there was never any leakage in the life of the car (16 years 290k miles).
I did try lubricating the seal with vaseline for a while - this did not seem to do any harm.

Might be worth trying citroen in France as it may be cheaper....

Thanks for all your comments, i will try CITUK (although £50 sounds a bit heavy). Will also try France.

The edges are bonded cavmad.

I suppose in the end it could all be a bit much just for looks
