TZD electrical faults

Post by swampi »

My TZD has this strange fault which i think may be connected.... The reversing lights stay on all the time, the rev counter works only works some times when it jitters, and the cooling fan runs all the time.
the book says that they are on the same circuit. Any ideas please?

Highly unlikely to be connected I think.

The reversing light fault will most likely be the switch that is faulty or simply needs adjustment. You'll find it on top of the gearbox, slightly forward, sort of beneath the clutch arm.

The rev counter, similar situation, the sender unit is down the back of the engine facing onto the flywheel. It may simply be too far away from the flywheel and need pushing in a bit. You'll need to first slacken the 10mm bolt that holds it in place. Also worth checking the electrical plug connection for good contact.
They think it's all over, it is now!
