rear spoiler TZD

Post by kermit the frog »

Does anyone know if the rear spoiler on the TZD is hollow
As i am thinking of putting a high level brake light into the rear edge and running the wire through the tailgate and i dont want to start if i can't get the wire through the spoiler.

Regards Kermit :) :) :)

My TSZ(TZS or whatever it is still can't get tha hang of the letters) seems to have a rubbery/polystyrene based and I guess there's a reinforcement bar in it. If youres is the same style then I'd say a high level brake light would be ok if you could glue it some how

Most spoilers are strong enough

Your TZS spoiler is completely different to the GTi/TZD spoiler, and is a foam rubber moulding. There's no reinforcement in it.

The GTi/TZD "baby walker" spoiler is indeed hollow, so you could run a cable into it from the bootlid. If you wanted to be very flash you could use an LED brakelamp unit, and let it into the spoiler, meaning it would be invisible in the rea-view mirror.
this might be a signature
