WARNING Front strut lubrication LHM contamination risk
Re: WARNING Front strut lubrication LHM contamination risk
Epic bump I tried this today and lordz did it make a difference! Really did have a "magic carpet" ride afterwards - just a squirt of WD40 on each side. Might try squirting in some LHM next week as a more longerish term solution.ellevie wrote:A safer and more immediate cure for groaning struts is to squirt some 3&1 oil in through the small finger sized hole in the rubber gaitor at the top of the strut within the engine compartment. If you look through the hole you should be able to see the shiny silver surface of the top of the strut --- try and squirt the oil directly on to this silver surface. Then push the front suspension up and down a few times to work the oil in.

i wouldnt use that orible W stuff it might cause the seal's to swell up' which will bring back your stiff/tight strut problem wirh a vengence,
IMO you should only use a mineral based lube prferabley not from a spay can,

/\WHS, bear in mind WD40 is a water dispersant, not a lubricant.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!
Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...
