Here's another less expensive one that uses a 17mm socket/spanner rather than a 1/2" drive.

I suppose it comes down to which will best withstand the punishment of being used in conjunction with a 2 foot breaker bar. :?

Big sharp chisel, REALLY big hammer.
Never fails!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

That's what I've used so far and it works but some frown upon this technique.

at least he is sending a good message to those who don't know about citroens, how many owners have you spoke to who have just binned thier bx's becuase the spheres had gone!

IF YOUR CITROEN SUSPENSION HAS BECOME HARD IT ONLY NEEDS REPLACEMENT SPHERES.. A CONSTANT "TICKING" SOUND FROM THE FRONT OF YOUR CAR DENOTES LOW PRESSURE IN THE ACCUMULATOR SPHERE, WHICH MUST BE CHANGED WITHOUT DELAY!! SPHERES ARE AVAILABLE ON EBAY, EITHER NEW OR RECONDITIONED. DON'T GIVE YOUR CAR AWAY FOR A BARGAIN PRICE - GIVE IT A NEW LEASE OF LIFE

enough said

A sphere tool works very well if made from materials which are sturdy enough - I have a Pleiades one bought secondhand and which hasn't failed me yet. The Pleiades one is a little expensive, but the handle is sturdy enough to temp me to use that end as a makeshift hammer!
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

I agree with you simon for the cost of as complete set of spheres including the accumilator the suspension will be comfortable and the car need not be thrown away.

It's cheaper than a set of new springs and dampers for most other cars and easier to fit.( no fidling around with spring compressors)

I agree with doc's sharp chisel and large hammer though you can't beat a good hammer 8)
My personal favourite is the 2.5lb club a trusty companion not too heavy but shifts most thing's
I think all travelling tool kits should have one.

Regards Kermit :) :)

I have one of these tools (the type with the 1/2" square drive on it) and I'm impressed with how well it works.

I've had a serious length of breaker bar on it and it's been fine. Removed a particularly stuck accumulator last weekend with minimum hassle. Even not-that-stuck spheres come off much more easily.

Recommended.
