vanny, the price for the plugs you quoted sounds to me very much like the single electrode ones matey! 9 iused to get the bcp6res for my 309gti for 94p a plug!) I'd be Very suprised if you managed to get the 7et's for that money! £10.71 was the best i htink i got mine for!

leads wise, i have the halfords hot wires on mine, 8mm yellow ones with the fitting kits etc, not overly cheap But touch wood havent let me down in 5 years!

the Mi's like a lot of grunt and a good spark on starting,
Timmo.

After all I AM CORNISH!!!!

deffinatley not the single electrodes, but thinking about it i might have got them from eBay, still trade price on spark plugs at halfords tends to take a set of good bosch ones from £15 to £5! a rather heathly saving.

I think I'll consider the former next month.

where did you get them prices?

KV85's (4562) are listed as £46.56! Might be investing in the near future. Used to have to get them on group order for the 16v, but i guess the pug boys must be buying a lot!

Thanks for the tip, Vanny. I will certainly go that route.

google be your friend, i suspect that being related to VW they will be charging in excess of going rate, so you might find them cheaper again!

For a good spark, fit an extra new relay by the ignition coil. Connect it to the battery terminal, so the current to the coil primary does not need to run up that really thin (and probably corroded) wire to the worn out ignition switch and back to the coil.

The coil takes many amps, and the voltage drop on the primary will be directly multiplied to more lost volts on the plug.

Same principle works well for the starter motor solonoid, and headlamps.
