Heck, if you can do a Robin than a BX will be easy :D Space to work is the main thing though, if you've not got a garage or a private driveway I find the neighbours take a dim view of you doing it in the street

Tools: I've been collecting tools as and when I need them since I was 15 (I'm 48 now) and still adding to my collection. Most of them I still have from when I was a lad and use them regularly. Buy what you need for a job as and when you need them, buy the best you can afford and they'll serve you for a lifetime. Money spent on good tools is never wasted :D

arh the only tools i need or cant get my hands on are

engine support beam,
engine hoist Would love but wife would kill me if i had this siting in the hall it was bad enough when i tock off and washed some AX parts in the sink

Balljoint splitter Arh yes i need one and thats £10 well spent

http://bxclub.co.uk/diy/ (will make the link sorter soon)

Thats the link

The room is the main problem as the car simi pokes out into the road now so if am laying under it i will have my legs driven over and sod the neighbours there out working on there cars some times as well

The lucky thing i had thou with the robin was i tock the whole thing out in 3 bits and just lifted it out then used my dads work mate (althou now i have my own)

But i cant do that with a 1.7 BX block lol

Balljoint splitter = big hammer & chisel.

Engine hoist = trolley jack & axle stands.

36mm? socket for hubnut is probably your biggest problem.

That's where you're going wrong then, you want to use a dishwasher*. I used ours to clean the sump and it came out gleaming - you could (not surprisingly) eat your dinner off it. I should add that I set it for an empty wash afterwards to rinse it out, and my wife was away at the time.

*I take no responsibility for any marital problems caused by using a dishwasher in this manner.

That's impressive Mat, my new Bosch one washes the dishes fine but it's useless on the SS Frying Pan - doesnt take the baked on oil off properly and have to do it again by hand.
