Front Fog Lights

Post by Hurricane »

Are they fog lights? Anyhow the fog lights in the TZD haven't worked since we got it and not sure how long before then. I think we've tried changing bulbs, on Second thoughts not sure, might have. Could it be a wire or something that's become dissconnected.

Is this a common problem and is it easily fixed? Any help appreciated.

Cheers.

Usually with these its the connections at the back of the lamp that have corroded into a kind of ferrous soup - trace the wiring back to inside the engine bay and test it with a digi-meter with the switch on - chances are it will show you have 12V there - if not replace the fuse and try again - if you have got electrickery there (assuming no one has been stupid and shorted it out , letting all the smoke out) then its really a case of trying to replace the lamps themselves - I have 2 halfrauds jobbies that will fit in the space, but need bulbs - you are welcome to them.

Yes they are fog lights.
Long range lamps would be no good sitting that low.

If the lamp units are a mess - there is a huge selection of standard units that fits the holes. surf the net for standard units at any parts dealer near you, like GSF, Halfrauds, Eurocarparts etc. etc.

Genuine lamp units to replace the old ones are approx £60 - each unit. They are not handed.
Fits Visa, C15, AX, BX, CX, 205, 309, 405 etc. etc.

If it turns out the light units are at fault...

eBay Link

Quite cheap for brand new parts, but it depends on how much you want to spend to get them working.
