Source of Body panels lights etc

Post by jeremy »

Seems Beevers still stock some BX body panels, bumpers and lights.

Obviously more expensive than secondhand but may be of use to someone.

Thats very interesting indeed.
And for new panels very reasonably priced IMHO.
Shame I didn't know about this lot a few weeks ago, I could have just replaced both the sills instead of losing the will to live welding the bloody things...

Might see if they'll do a discount for bulk ordering and get stocked up and what they've got.

Also, anyone else feel a Naked Gun moment coming on??

Not quite the only one!

Citroën still sell rear wings, but they are mouth wateringly expensive, like £185 + the Vodka and Tonic...

I get nearly all my panels from John Greaves at Classic Citroën Parts.

Nice bloke, reasonably priced and very good delivery.

£17.55 for a sill seems very reasonable - but then there's the not insignificant matter of replacing one. I'd advise long-term BX estate owners to check theirs out as a matter of course (cue sound of stuck record - I'm old enough to remember and revere vinyl).
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

Not just estates Dave, all BX's are prone to dissolving sills now.

Believe it or not complete sill replacement is not all that difficult actually.
Very clever bit of design (well sort of) for ease of production makes total replacement faster and less hassle than welding repair sections in.

Vanny, you need help mate, really, it's just a car, you're a young lad, you should be looking at the vast swaith of sunshine shiela's presentley parading themselves...

Now all we need is a BX that needs sill replacement (perhaps a photo-feature for a sticky would be a good idea if you're not camera-shy).

I'm sure there'll be one along in a minute.
