Loose Bolt problem

Noticed a rather large bolt on the floor underneath the engine yesterday. Inspected area to see if i could spot where it has come from. Turns out its the upper bolt for the starter motor (which fixes it to the gearbox??).

Anyway, managed to get it in & tightened up, but noticed that the bottom bolt was protruding out of the starter motor as well!!!

I cant access it as the clutch arm is right in the way...When the clutch pedal is out, the bolt is resting against the arm, so its not going anywhere...

Could this potentially cause a problem with the clutch if it continues to unscrew out?

Any ideas or advice on what i need to do to access this bolt so that i can screw it up tight again?

Which car is this on mate?
I assume it's the TXD and it has the early style release arm?

In which case all you need is a 21mm socket to remove the release arm and tighten the 8mm allan bolt!
I wouldn't leave it loose TBH..

Yup its the txd...i had toyed with the idea of having a go, but thought it cant be as obvious as taking the large nut off the release arm.

Will the spring ping off? The clutch arm mechanism consists of a number of parts so was worried about undoing anything which might cause an issue with the connecting parts further along towards the actual clutch cable....

Not sure whether its the early style release type or not as i dont have a point of reference unfortunately....

The later style release arm doesn't get in the way of the starter bolts, so you must have the early stylee one!

Remove the return before removing the arm (not that it's totally necessary anyway, I ran mine for years without the spring)..

Oh, and pull the arm forward and remove the pushrod before doing anything, and keep it somewhere safe, it's a reet bugger if you lose that.

Other than that, yes, it really is just a 21mm bolt, undo remove arm, do up starter bolt, replace arm.
Dont do the 21mm bolt up TOO tight though, the thread is fairly fine and easily stripped.
