That might be a good project, for when all the other jobs on the list of been done. Sounds like a cutting torch might be needed though..

Anyway the fuel pipes arrived in genuine Citroen bags, and have now been fitted. I deliberately made the leak worse and managed to drain enough fuel into various receptacles to empty the reserve tank.
I should have checked before trying to fit that the 3 inches or so of the L-shaped end that goes into the tank hoses matched the length of the old ones. Both had to be shortened at that point, one by about 2 cm.

It was useful to disconnect the hoses on top of the fuel tank, mostly to stop diesel spillage, but in my case, not necessary to use the string or wire, as just by pushing them off about an inch, they were protruding beyond the level of the bottom of the sill, and they were so hard they weren't going anywhere in a hurry!.
