Radiators

Post by Rob_e (UK) »

Hi,
How many different types of radiator are there for the BX? I have seen one on ebay, but they don't say which BX it is for. Mine has got a small leak so if I could get a new one cheap it might be the best option; I put some radweld in but I am not conviced it has sealed the leak completely.

Thanks,
Rob

Ooooooh, er, alot!

Ok, er, the 1.4 is smaller than the 1.6. The 1.9 has a different rad agin. N/A diesels have a totally different rad to the TD, 16v's have a different rad again (actually a bit small and crap IMHO)..

So, er, there's a few variants, and it's best to get the right one!
For example, whilst a rad from a 1.6 will fit straight into a 1.9, it isn't of the same thermal characteristics, so it'll cook the engine.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Thanks,
Their listing jsut said Citroen BX, but it did have the Valeo part number which according to this website http://www.webdealauto.com/-adiateur-du ... _info.html

is supposed to fit 1.4 & 1.6, but unfortunately for me not a 1.9.

Anyway, in case it is of any use to someone else the listing was here

Thanks,
