Post by TouaregUK »

Hello any one found a way to recode your radio when you have lost the code through the battery going dead, cheers

What BX have you got? (I noticed you brought the thread with my old TGS up front again, but didn't make any comment. Did you acquire EJK then?).

Back on topic, unless I'm much mistken it can be a pain.... you could try http://www.car-audio-accessories.co.uk/index.html or suchlike...?

The only time I've lost a radio code was on my Mum's M-plate 106. As she had a full history, I was able to ring the dealer which originally sold it - they were able to give me the code straight away over the phone. I think I just gave them the reg number of the car and the name of the first owner.

If you whip the radio out, copy the serial number starting with BP off the side of the casing, pm it to me and I will send you the code 8)

I am assuming it's the original issue Blaupunkt that came with the car and had not been fiddled with in the past ie recoded rather than decoded....

Oh, and it's a free service for the BX crew on this forum, whereas any/all audio websites (in my experience) will charge you a fee

ed kindly sorted out a code for mine :D . What was a bit strange was when i recently put the wrong code it & it never let me re-enter the code, is there a proceedure for sorting that out? I even left the unit switched on for hours thinking there might be a timer.

Most coded radios will have a permanent lock out if the code is wrongly entered a few times. They have then to be sent back to the factory for resetting.
While you have available your retries then often you have to wait a time before you can re-enter the code as you mention.
The limited retries depend on model and range between 3 and 10 usually before total lock-out.
