hi not my bx but my rover 218 td.there had been some rattle for short time around timing belt,gone to bolton today car stops at light wont restart .timing belt seems fine correct tenson no damage and camshaft ok.luckily was 2 miles from friends house he towed me there.treid to restart engine not sound right,any ideas greatly appreciated.thanks rob.

hhmm, sounds like either the tensioner / water pump / idler bearings have failed or the cams bust.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Pop of the cam cover and look close on the cam - in 2 parts ?

hi doc thanks for that had good news alt had seized up but not snapped alt belt so engine fine am relieved.had just took a spare alt out of boot left in in lpool though!!!thanks for your help bye rob.
