Help Please - required from the land of the long white cloud

Post by ddob »

Hi guy's,
1990 Citroen BX19TRI
DFZ XU9J1 Motor
Compression ratio - 8-4 - 1
Dumb question time -
1. I'm about to do a cambelt/timing tensioner & water pump - Have been told that there is another tensioner that may need replacing - something called a QH tensioner - can any body tell me where it is and what it does.
2. Have been told by the local citroen dealer in New Plymouth New Zealand that I can successfly run my car on 91 octane fuel. Has anybody heard this before.
Have bought a Haynes manual but it doesn't even mention the DFZ Motor
- the only info I can find out is on the BX How to do it web pages and even then its only 1 small paragraph.
Is there anything that anyone can tell me about this motor.
Many Thanks for all your help,
Danny ^^ ^^

Not having my haynes to hand I cant answer much - but QH is likely Quinten Hazel - a brand of automotive suppliers.
