Sound like you might have bought a duff sphere if it's now worse than before.

not if the rear of the car raises when sitting on the back end with engine off, the sphere should be fine,

constant ticking over a long period of time will damage the innards of the regulator,

so you might be better off trying a replacement regulator

Did anyone ever get to the bottom of the hissing mentioned at the beginning of this post, one of mine does it and i plan to investigate it later in the year.

Thanks, I think maybe go up to Plaides and let them have a look might be an idea.
I generally hate taking a car to a garage when I can do it myself, but changing parts without really knowing what the fault is will be more expensive in the long run.

Well spoke to Matin today, he thinks it will be the pressure valve, (Which he keeps in stock).
He can test it if I take the car up, or he could post one and I could just try it.
I've decided to take the car up and get it looked at by them, that way he can advise/repair anything else that needs doing.
It will be more expensive, but I want the car right.
