FDV replaced what a mission

Post by kiwi »

If your FDV is tired and leaking yep its worth the overhaul and I will concur taking the Radiator out and improving access especially on AC models is a must.

Biggest challenge was getting the circlips out of the FDV (see the sticky note up further) putting it back together a piece of Cake, getting the pipes into it and not to leak.....the mission...lol

Had a bit of a scare because I miss bleed the coolant system. Bit of a panic I had killed the head again. thats all it was though fear.

Still got a flippin leak though hard to stop exactly but its either the Pipe unions or around the accumulator somewhere. Hoping a easy tighten because I am not taking out the Rad again in a hurry.

I tried leaving it in ended up with a few grazed knuckles on the rad core, very fiiddly anyways its done now better access was a must.

Although now the damn leaks moved somewhere else not 100% sure where but think all the jiggling disturbed the Acumulator Pipe (that big loop thing) cant see it but indications of another leak there. The refitted FDV is dry!

Oh frickin joy

Meantime on the 19TRS got to hunt a leak around the subframe (got an Octopus in case I needed it) and that dreaded t-Piece above the rear offside axle is a bit damp.

Glad got gravel drive way all these BXs dripping.
