This is probably a dumb question, but ...
Does the BX have one or two 'spiders/octupus'' above the front subframe? If it's one (as I think), is there another similar part in the same area?
Confirmation of what hydraulic parts are concealed by the subframe would be much appreciated.

Two.
One is the big octopus, which has 9 legs.
The other is the small octopus, which has either 3 or 4 legs, dependant on how you look at it.
The Small octopus deals with the front and rear height corrector low pressure returns, and joins these to the return from the Accumulator/Regulator unit. You can see the "body" of it attached to the LHM tank.
The Large octopus deals with all the low-flow returns, essentially "everything else"
