A quick wheel question

Will Xantia 15" alloys fit OK on a BX Mk2?

Likewise, will Xsara alloys fit?

And in fitting these what would be the optimum tyre size? I'm guessing 195 55 R15's?

I reckon so Phil. I've seen BXs fitted with Pug 205 1.9 GTi 15" Speedlines and they seem OK and look really good on a BX. In fact I have the same wheels on one of my Xantias.

As far as I know all Pug/Cit wheels have the same PCD and offset. The only thing that may vary a bit is the centre hole diamater.

Your tyre choice is what I have on my Speedline equipped Xantia. They look suitably low and mean!

I hope your rear arm bearings are ok, otherwise they wont fit under the rear wheel spats. Dont forget that the lower profile rubber will give a reduced ride quality, aside from that they should make the car look sportier. Any pics of the alloy's you're intending to fit?

Actually no pics - it's just that I saw an early Xantia today with nice original alloys and thought the design would suit a BX. As regards fitting them to the BX - the rear arms will be OK and with one of my previous BXs which were fitted with 16v wheels and 195 tyres it wasn't a problem (although the fit was tight).

I am not having any luck getting hold of 14" silver or preferably graphite Speedlines for the BX so thought I'd widen the search. Of course I could always stick with steels and 185 rubber as is! But...

You could get non citroen alloys which are the correct 14 size & pcd rating, though they would cost more than 2nd hand ones. How about saxo alloys?

I found these boy's on e-bay, sounded like a bargain to me, might be worth giving them a bell to see if they have any more sets available?

OMG!

Multi-spoke OZ-type rally rims are nice - but on a 16v (in red) so they have the grunt to back them up!

In all honesty I should hold out for some GTi/Ph.1 16v Speedlines really... (I did have some lined up but I haven't heard from DLM in a while, so...).

Either that or get good BX trims on it... (Simon's sending some that used to belong to me that need a refurb, so we'll have to see).

So, if anyone does have a good set of Speedlines that they would be prepared to sell, PM me!

Slightly off topic but I like the steel wheels fitted to some lower spec early XM's - the ones with the little holes around the rim. I guess they are 15 inch. Actually, have I seen a similar wheel on MK1 BX's?
