Hatchback boot trim

A quick question for anyone with a hatch - is there any kind of trim to fasten down/cover the boot carpet where it meets the rear seat back? I've just put in the rear seat from a hatchback, and it does't have the flap of carpet to cover the join like the estate seats did.
I could knock something up from an aluminium strip or similar, and rivet it in place but was just wondering if anything existed normally...

From memory i thought that the hatch boot carpet had a very small flap that could be kinda pressed into the recess.

Mind you, if the plastic side pods are secured with enough pressure, that keeps the boot carpet from moving about anyway.

It's not moving about that's the problem - just when I fold down the rear seat there is the edge of the carpet waiting for something to catch it. Maybe I will have to make something...

i dont remember suffering from that, isnt there enough carpet material to put into the slot where the seats go forward? If there isnt, i'd be tempted to use some duct tape.

Hmmm, I wonder whether the estate carpet is shorter than the hatch? No spare carpet as it would normally be covered by the carpet on the back of the rear seats. Anyway, duct tape would do the job, but I will see if I have some ally strip to do a neater job. Thanks for the info.

It would look a lot nicer with an aluminium strip instead.

Sorry can't add anything here but I noted that on mine the boot carpet engages in 3 lugs just behind the rear seat with corresponding cut outs in the carpet - is this different to later BXs?

And yes, they all stick out a bit and do not attach to the rear seat, which I always found rather disappointing..

Beg to differ but on both the BX 19 TRs and Later TZS circa 1990/1991 got the three lugs the carpet hooks into on the floor plan plus a velcro attachment to the rear split seat! From memory the split rear seats were fitted like that but not the earlier bench seat (Yes I was refering to UK spec)
