Fuel gauge problems.

Fuel gauge problems.

Can anyone help I have a problem with my fuel gauge it sits on empty then flicks round a bit then sits back on empty.
BX GTI 8v 18,000 on clock

Almost certainly the sender unit, they seem to be getting to that age where there's loads failing at the mo.
So much so I have no good spare ones left as I've given them all away!
Which is a tad of an arse since the one in the TD has just started to snuff it.
Still available from Citroen, but it's not cheap!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

If you can get one, get one from a petrol engine'd vehicle. Petrol doesn't seem to attack the PCB in the sender as badly as diesel does.
